Big Resume helps students build strong resumes and cover letters!
Resumes and cover letters are often the first things an employer sees, so you want to make a great impression. The good news? Big Resume, an app within Big Interview, has tons of helpful tools and resources to guide you as you learn how to create strong, professional resumes and cover letters!
Big Resume is free to use for all UW-Madison students and alumni. Log in below with your NetID or easily access the tool by adding the Big Interview tile in MyUW. When logging in, you may be directed to the Big Interview page first. If so, select the dotted tile at the upper left hand corner and select Big Resume!

Big Resume has video lessons focused on writing strong and persuasive resumes, cover letters, and even thank you notes (great to send after interviews)! The site also features approved resume templates that you can download and adapt based on your own educational, employment, and/or extracurricular experiences.

Get AI Feedback on Your Resume 24/7
Big Resume’s ResumeAI feature is an innovative way to receive helpful feedback on your resume at any time! It looks at things like how easy your resume is to read, how professional it sounds, whether it works well with applicant‑tracking systems (ATS), and if the overall format is solid.
To get started, choose a scoring guide made by career advisors or enter a scoring guide code from your career services office or instructor. You can also add details about a specific job you’re applying for (optional). Then just upload your resume. After ResumeAI scans your document, you’ll get personalized feedback within minutes—showing what you’re already doing well and what you can improve.
