First Destination Survey Data Dashboard

The interactive dashboard below provides information about the career outcomes of UW-Madison undergraduate students. The dashboard represents the primary plans of bachelor’s degree recipients within the first six months following their graduation date.

Of the 9,124 undergraduate degree recipients surveyed from Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025, UW-Madison has reasonable and verifiable information regarding the post-graduation plans of 6,400, for an overall Knowledge Rate of 70%.

To gather this data, graduating students are prompted to complete the First Destination Survey.

Data within this dashboard is also collected from the National Student Clearinghouse, UW-Madison enrollment records, LinkedIn, and other verified sources.

2024-2025 First Destination Survey Outcomes

This dashboard allows you to explore the career outcomes of our bachelor’s degree recipients by major, school/college, and location. Any major with fewer than five responses will not display data when selected to protect the anonymity of students, but the responses are still included in the overall results and results at the school/college level. The default setting is “all schools” and “all majors”.

Please note: When selecting filters, the dashboard may take a few minutes to reload and display all information.

The First Destination Survey meets guidelines of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) and allows for standardized reporting around what bachelor’s degree recipients plan immediately after graduation.

Summaries for the following majors are not displayed in the public visualization due to having fewer than five graduates or fewer than five respondents to the survey in order to protect student privacy: African American Studies, Applied Social Science, Animal Sciences, Business Administration-Human Resources, Business: Entrepreneurship, Business: Management, Chinese, Classics, Community and Nonprofit Leadership, Consumer Marketplace Studies, Design, Innovation, and Society, Engineering Physics, Entomology, Forest Science, German, Horticulture, Individual Major,  Italian, Jewish Studies, Latin, Latin American, Caribbean, and Iberian Studies, Music: Education, Music: Performance, Naval Science, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Soil Science. Their responses are included within School/College summaries and the overall summary. Pharmaceutical Sciences graduates are also excluded from this visualization.
